The morning begins with an Acknowledgement of Country on the shores of Thompson Bay followed by a Sand Ceremony, before a guided walk through the settlement, where children will learn about native plants, their Noongar names and traditional uses and visit the koornt (a traditional shelter, otherwise known as a mia mia).
Children will then create their own artwork before enjoying some light refreshments.
This free event is recommended or primary school ages children. The walking trail is easily accessible and the trail is suitable for prams (aside from the opening, where the pram can be left just to the side before walking onto the sand).
Please book for each child attending. Adults do not need to book in - but must attend with a child
